I hope this is not a double post - I looked through the other 396 posts and did not see this topic -

I cannot figure out how to manually lock out a system and/or group on my scanner. i.e. if I have 9 different systems programed in - and I only want to listen to group 1 on system 2 - how do that manually. The only way I have been able to do is so far - is to hook the scanner up to my PC - and control it using the ARC software. Not exactly the best way to do this. I can do this very quickly on my other Uniden Scanners using the Banks and Lists. I'm just not getting it on the 396.

Thanks

Use the quickkeys to turn off the other systems, or lock them out.

Page 44 of the manual - "Selecting systems to scan". Say you have quick keys assigned to 1,2,3,4, and 9. You are scanning or searching, you see the numbers above on the S0: line. Just hit 2 to stop scanning system 2, for example, and that number will change to an asterisk. For 2-digit numbers, hit the .no button prior to the 2 digits.

edit: To start scanning/searching again, just hit the number again.

On page 45 of the manual under "Selecting System Channel Groups" it describes what to do to activate/deactivate groups within a system.
