A feature I would love to see (which I haven't seen anyone else mention yet, so I'm guessing I am the only one) would be a menu option like "All SQK Off" / "All SQK On".

My main reason for wanting this, is that when loading a Start-Up Key, all SQK within that Start-Up Key are automatically activated. When traveling and going from one Start-Up Key to another, it's kind of a pain to have to go and turn off all the SQKs that have been turned on with the new load. "All SQK Off" would come in really handy, allowing the user to only activate the SQK(s) needed for the current geographical area.

It would be great if the Weather Alert Priority Scan Function could check for the 1050Hz alert tone on NOAA weather channels using a much shorter moment every 5 seconds than it currently does. The shorter moment would be much less disruptive (almost making this function unusable with the current sampling period IMO) to regular scanning when this alert is enabled. Sort of a weather junkie here who really likes this feature but not with the long dropout periods in scan mode currently needed to make it work.

How about getting rid of that "Burrrraaat" sound on Edacs systems... Radioshack did it, now uniden needs to 1 up them!

Two things I would love to see in the new firmware:

1. Make it so that the color alert light stays on for as long as the talk group or channel is active
2. Faster response on decoding audio on Apco P25 digital systems. Like the PSR500 & the 396T.

I too would like to see Radio Id's .... I hope that finally Paul will see in this thread that there is demand and given that this information is readily available on the control channels of trunking systems. This is an easy feature to add and one that will get Uniden brownie points from many of us here.

Nope. Especially if you flag the channel/TGID as digital reception only.
At least here in NC I have had no issues decoding digital.
I don't know how much faster a radio can be expected to decode a digital signal.

I agree. My T isn't that bad but the XT seems instantaneous.

I have my 396XT sitting next to my PSR500. Both are holding on a P25 talk group. The PSR500 has audio a good second or two before the XT has audio.

I thought I had a bad 396XT so I exchanged it for a new one, but the problem still exists. prior to the XT I had the 396T, and it didn't have the issue.

So..yes its true, at least for the P25 system that I am monitoring. I'm sure Uniden can fix this with a software update.

I checked and my priority is turned off, WX priority is off, close call DND is off, and there's no such thing as adjusting P25 wait time for a true Apco P25 system.

I am sitting here as I type this listening to a 396XT and a PSR-600 on local digital systems and am not hearing any difference like that you're experiencing. I dont think it is a radio issue, for whatever that's worth.

I just got my 396XT and the quality of the reception far exceeds my old Pro-96. I'm like everyone else - radio ID's! Hell, the XTS portables even display the user ID's.

Unit ID display would be nice, but I'd rather have patch following for P25 trunked systems.
