BCD436 City Data Table Read Error

My brand new BCD436 seems to have locked up when first turned on and connected to my computer. The message on the display is: "City data table read error Please checkCityTable_V1_00_00. dat in SD Card”. What do I do? The menu won't come up and I can’t even turn the radio off.

I was not able to get the Sentinel Software to upload to my computer, I already have a version of Sentinel fro my HomePatrol 1, will the 436 upload a new version?

I think you can find Sentinal for the 436 online. It's not the same version as for your home patrol 1.

What you have is a corrupt SD card. On one of these forums you will find a link to a program called SD Formatter.

Install Sentinal for the x36 radios, format the card, or a new one with SD Formatter, use the option in Sentinal called Clear User Data, and then do a software to radio transfer.

You should then be able to put the card in the radio and have it fire up.

x36 Sentinel and HP-x Sentinel are two different programs.
