Has anyone here used something like the below for FW updates and/or programming?

Right now I control it via WiFi/ProScan, but need to do a lot of programming changes and you can't access the SD card except via the USB port. This would be a ghetto setup with the cable running down (or up??) the stairs, but it will be temporary until I get the programming situated.

I don't have the USB extender but I have an HDMI extender by Cable Matters... It works great...

It should work fine for Prog and firmware updates...
It looks just like a USB cable to the device...

Should is the key word. Lots of things that "should" work don't, but good news is this works just fine. I have about 75' of CAT5 and it's working great so far.
