I am sure this has been asked & answered before. I am trying to program Mutual Aid (154.28000) into a BCD992P2 scanner with no success. Can this be done?

I have it programmed in its own bank, and mysteriously plays the weather??

Thanks!

Well for one thing, the P2 scanners don't use banks- the rough equivalent would be a group. Yes you could put this frequency into its own group. Are you using software? Which app?

Our wiki has a page with links to the Easier to Read guides, as well as links to lots of videos on DMA programming, and the P2 scanners in particular

Are you close to the offending NOAA transmitter? And are you using an outside antenna?

Assuming your programming is correct, the NOAA reception may be some sort of an intermod product.

Try:

  • Disconnecting whatever antenna you are using. Does the weather broadcast go away?
  • Connect a 1'-2' section of wire to the radio's antenna connector. Wire gauge is unimportant. Does the weather broadcast return? Can you still hear VFIRE 21?
