I’ve been using FreeScan to program my scanner, however, I switched over to ProScan. Since I’ve been listening to the AIRS system, I can hear Etowah county 911, dispatch the calls, however, I don’t hear the tones accept for two departments. I hear the Black Creek and Gallant FD’s. But I’ve not herd any others. Your help and suggestions would be appreciated.

Are they being toned out on conventional frequencies, or using the AIRS system.

If tone outs are being done via the trunked system, you cannot capture those via the 996P2, nor any other current scanner. With the correct TGID, you might hear the voice trafic, but not be able to utilize tones.

If they are toned out on conventional frequencies, you can program those tone out details if you can locate them. However, for Tone Out to work, the scanner has to be parked on the tone-out frequencies. You cannot both scan, as well as listen for tone-outs, at the same time.

I might not have made things clear enough in my earlier post. I’m hearing the dispatcher dispatch the various departments on the AIRS system. I’m not wanting to capture the tones I’m saying that I can’t hear them. I’ve had been scanning in normal scan modes as I said earlier, I can hear 911 dispatch the traffic, and I can hear the tones for only two departments but not all.

If they are using data on the trunked system, you would not hear the 'tones' no matter how you programmed it. If you think they are using conventional channels, check the license details for your county for one or more frequencies that are not currently in the database.
