bcd996p2 programming question

I have ordered the BCD996P2, have not received it yet, but want to add local ham frequencies to it.
Will I be able to do that, if so using which software etc? (I purchased it with programming already done for Public Safety freqs)

You can do it without software. Just follow this:

Press Menu
Turn the scroll knob to Search For
Then press Service Search
Select HAM Radio

You can easily learn how to program it yourself.

Here is the "Easier to Read " manual section on searching for and programming the HAM frequencies.

edit: i found what i sent, here it is for anybody.

hit menu.
program system, hit yes.
turn knob to new system, hit yes.
select system type. turn to conventional, hit yes.
confirm, hit yes.
( you can set the name now or later)
turn knob to edit group, hit yes.
new group, hit yes.
turn knob to edit channel, hit yes.
new channel, hit yes.
INPUT FREQUENCY, this is where you put in any freqs you want, hit the menu button to act as a backspace and put in more.
when done just hit scan.
