I have a 996p2 I’m trying to broadcast through proscan to stream. My issue is I only have a headphone Jack on my laptop, I can’t seem to figure out how to get audio through the computer. I do have the usb connected to view the scanner on proscan in hopes to generate thee alpha tags from scanner. Any help will greatly be appreciated! Moving my feed from an SDR to a scanner to scan digital and analog on same feed

It just has a headphone symbol next to the hook up. Are we able to transfer the sound through the usb cable?

I think what people are trying to tell you here is that you need a MIC jack to input audio into your computer. A HEADPHONE jack is likely audio OUT not IN. It is possible that your jack (labeled headphone) is a TRRS jack to allow MIC in but that would require that you use a TRRS plug rather than the standard audio cable. Best solution is to purchase a cheap USB sound card as suggested above and plug your audio cable from the scanner into the labeled MIC jack.

USB sound cards are cheap. And will solve your problem. Also need a pigtail audio cord.( Also cheap), to connect the scanner to the audio card.
