BCD396XT/BCD996XT: bcd996xt reception issues

Hello, I have be using my bcd996xt for a short time now. Picked it up used. Issue is that when a transmission comes over I hear the first few words then it cuts out for a second or two then the rest on the transmission is heard. Any ideas on a fix?

You probably have the priority function enabled

Make sure you don't have weather alert priority or priority scan enabled. It sounds like the scanner is checking a priority setting.

Yeah , a very common question.

Check the various Priority Modes.

Also, check that the scan delay is not set to a negative value. For example: If scan delay is set to -2, the radio will receive a transmission for 2 seconds and then resume scanning whether the transmission is finished or not.

Set Delay Time sets the delay (in seconds) the amount of time the scanner stays on a channel after the transmission has ended before moving to the next channel. A negative delay will force a resume after that number of seconds. This setting applies to all channels in the system. You cannot set the delay on a 'per channel' basis. The default setting is 2 seconds.

Scroll to 'Set Delay Time' and press E/●. Scroll to the desired delay time (-10, -5, -2, 0, 1, 2, 5, 10, or 30 secs.) and press E/● to save and exit.

Other thing is very common I see from people here is having close call on and easy to turn it on with pushing in the squelch knob.
