BCT15X No sound after programming

I cannot seem to get a sound out of my BCT15X. I have programmed the scanner using software off of this site for my area. I also have BC75XLT which does receive and the sound is good on all frequencies.
Can I get some help on this??

Which software did you use, and what system did you program?

I am trying to program police and EMS freqs. in the Denver area. I am using Freeware and when I went to this site for the freqs, the ones chose downloaded into my scanner.

No Sound BCT15X

I do have BC75XLT which I programmed just fine means the freqs work on that unit. I re set the BCT15X just to add one freq that worked on BC75XLT. Still no sound. I plugged in speakers still no sound.

Have you ever had sound come from the BCT15x scanner?

Is the scanner new?

Looking at RR's database for Denver, CO it shows their public safety uses EDACS Standard w/ESK ProVoice and Analog. The BCT15X will do EDACS Standard w/ESK, but not ProVoice. Is that the system you're trying to program? If so, your BC75-XLT certainly will not decode that either.

In order to help you we need more detailed information on what you're trying to program.

Have you tried any of the programmed Service Searches like Aircraft, Weather, etc? Do those work?

Until he tells us where he is at and what specifically he wants to listen to. We are just all playing a guessing game.

Don't worry about ProVoice as it is only used on a handful of non-dispatch channels.

As this is a EDACS system, the freqs must be programmed in their logical order. Have you done that?

Does this freeware you are using to program it also include a virtual control panel to control the BCT15X from your PC? If so, make sure that virtual control is not muting to audio or has the volume turned to 0.

Yes Freescan does have that I will try that virtual control function but still on audio out of the unit itself I do hear static so the speakers work.

So, FreeScan will download the freqs from RadioRef for you, and in the case where the logical order matters, it will load them in the correct order.

I would suggest this - program in a National Weather Service freq such as 162.55 and see if you hear anything (make sure your squelch is set no higher than halfway).

And to add - we are assuming you have an antenna hooked to that scanner that is in a location capable of receiving the Denver EDACS system...

Try the weather frequencies.....or a regular FM broadcast radio station.
