bct8 trunking/talkgroups help

i think i got this thing working i am not sure it says seaching id then when it pickup anything it says 1--1 273

i programmed it with ARC8 for Uniden BCT8


i copyed the talk groups in should the radio be showing a name in the screen??

Of course you could just check our database, but be that as it may...

I don't believe the BCT8 can show alpha tags; however you should be able to see them on the virtual display in ARC8, if it has one (and I think it does)

It also appears that those talkgroups you have listed are in decimal format, rather than the more common agency/fleet/sub fleet (AFS) method. Take a look at the talkgroups listed here...

Riverside County Trunking System, Various, California - Scanner Frequencies

Now I'm not at all familiar with ARC8, but there should be someplace to indicate on that EDACS system whether you are using decimal or AFS when programming it. Having the wrong format declared might also be an issue.

You also have the option of entering favorite talk groups manually into the bank 1 and running the radio in id scan. This is a good way to hear only the talk groups you are interested in. id scan is possible by hitting srch. This is how i monitor EDACS.
