Just to clarify, I Do keep them in the graveyard in the garage, the last 210 I had, lost sensitivity on VHF High. Don't have a clue.

As the rumors swirled about Electra being taken over by Uniden... I had heard about Electra scanners with the number 6 button inverted to a 9. I'd love to hear from anybody in the early 80s who know anything about this. It was a widespread belief.

I imagine at that time folks in Cumberland Indiana who lost their jobs overseas did something LOL.

IC-R20... don't misunderstand, it was one of my favorite radios and if you read all of the previous posts, you see that.

As you get older, year after year of buying radios at a regular pace of half a dozen a year you run out of room.

I sold many of the radios that I have purchased, but a working 210 I would never sell. The one that caught fire I gave back, the one that lost vhf High reception I threw in the in the dumpster in the beginning of the 2000s. My father-in-law gave me one of his in perfect condition and I have kept it in my graveyard in the garage..

As you get older you realize you cannot keep all of this stuff and your family is just going to dump it, probably in a dumpster and I have specifically named people and radios where things should go. I think that's a good idea for a lot of us.
