Bearcat 220

hey im new to the scanning world. i was given a bearcat 220 from my grand father.. its ancient lol but i have always wanted it and finally got it.

now my problem is for 3 days now i have been trying to scan the police and other things around and i have no idea how lol.. any help would be greatly appreciated.. i used to listen to the police all the time with him and now i cant get it

Hi and welcome to Radio Reference.Now the problem you might be having with that vintage scanner might be with the radio it's self,is it able to turn on? Other problem you might have is that the police in your area might have switched over to trunked radio or digital radio.If you tell what state you live in and what town,city,or county you live in,I could find out what kind of radio systems you have in your area.
