A basic analog scanner would be fine for Pickens county-only listening but you will miss out on Highway Patrol, which is on Palmetto 800 (P25 800Mhz in that area). I run a BC 125AT and a Whistler TRX-1 when I'm visiting the area but I also monitor the adjacent counties.

I'm looking into getting a good beginner scanner for police, fire, and ems. I know to listen in my county it would have to be a Digital phase 2. Any suggestions on a good one to buy?
Message me, I have a pro 106 that I will part with, preloaded and cheap.I am in Dacusville and have upgraded my scanners and the Pro 106 sits in a drawer.

It will work with the analog pickens county and also P25 phase! for the rest of the area. Thinking $125 programmed and with new rechargeable batteries.

Finding hard to believe you are not jumping on this as a analog only Bc125 will cost you that much.
