Just to add, am freqs is where the loud continuous tone, the others were just dead key but when switched to LSB the loud tone was there.

Got a few more today but will post them after I get home Thursday. Once settled in at home, plan on using my R8600 to check each frequency out.

So received mine here in the UK (speaker version) after waiting 3 weeks direct. Great little radio BUT maximum volume is a bit on the low side and part of MW can not cope with a few strong signals here with my wellbrook loop connected and the sensitivity control does nothing.. LW has poor reception and with the loop still not great

I guess I need to make up a 3.5mm to USB lead for connection to a pc unless you can buy one ?

Does anyone agree with the above or have I got a dud maybe though I doubt it ?

Connect it to a Bluetooth speaker, like the JBL GO-2 which has an auxiliary input. I got a cell phone stand that has a Bluetooth speaker built in. Works well.

Mine doesn’t have the speaker. Don’t have those issues. Wondering if the speaker could be causing issues. Can you post a picture showing the speaker?

While it's always possible something is amiss in the radio, expecting it to handle a Wellbrook loop with strong MW stations - especially if they are nearby without any filtering - is simply asking for trouble. The Wellbrooks have roughly (if memory serves) some 20db of gain- put that on a strong MW signal, and I'm betting overload and desense issues would be the result.

Take the loop out of the equation and just run on the whip - see what happens Mike

The wellbrook even works fine with my tiny Yaesu VX-2R 70cm / 2m handheld no overloading at all plus ditto with my ATS 25. No of course with just the whip it defeats the whole purpose and with the lack of any real gain of course you can't expect much with MW using this. But the low volume level there seems to be a fault here or not I wonder. Anyway I have emailed Alex, see what he says

interesting, I live in the Dallas-Fort Worth Tx. metroplex area with strong AM and FM stations and have no bleed through with mine. I use a MLA-30 loop antenna. I also use a JBL Charge 4 speaker and it sounds great. Let us know what Alex says, good luck.
