Bell County EDACS

Hello all,

When I visited Killeen back in April, I used my ARC396 software and the database on this web-site to automatically program my 396 for Bell County Sheriff and Killeen PD. Everything worked great. When I got back, I erased it all from memory and re-programmed the radio for Hillsborough County where I live.

Last week found the wife and I in Bell County again visiting family and checking out Austin as a place to live in the near future. I used the software and the database here to automatically program the 396 again and when I got there, the scanner wouldn't track anything. The signal meter would show a signal and then it would lose it, find it again and then lose it. Have they done something to the system there? I had no problems tracking agencies in Williamson and Travis County when my wife and I were in Austin.

I am not aware of anything but when I drive through in the morning I will check. My ex also has a scanner and has said nothing. I know that there is a possibility that they are going to a Provoice system with ESK.

Maybe something got programmed incorrectly. If I went through the "channels" manually, I could find the control channel no problem but when I put it into scan, it was like the scanner couldn't lock onto it. Maybe the frequencies weren't programmed in the right order, or LCN.

If the ARC396 files are the same as ARC433 I can send you my bank info directly.Bell County is running edacs in the open.There is some rumers of provoice in the future.
Time will tell.

System is functioning normally. Both myself and ex had no problem using 396's.

I think I found the problem. When I went over the system in Win396, I noticed the software had the system configured as narrow. I think it should probably be a standard/wide system.

The same program problem exists with the LCRA frequencies. You have to reprogram the frequencies to EDACS wide. It also gives you a chance to update the scanner info anyway.

The BR330T has the same problem.
