I have driven to parts of Bell County on repeated occasions for over six months.

After Killeen came down with the "E" illness, I haven't heard anything else but Temple C2C talk group & county dispatch.

I know Temple encrypted dispatch, but I have heard nothing from Belton, Harker Heights, Nolanville, etc.

So, I would like to hear from some of the folks who helped identify the parameters of this system.

The same issue occurred with GATRRS in Travis County.

I believe both systems are largely inaccurate.

I no longer work in Bell County. Therefore, my contributions will be episodic.

My hat goes off to Russell for helping out with both systems.

I don' think we have a very active community in Bell County.
I haven't messed with it in a while.
Fired up UT today.

There is currently no PD Dispatch in the Clear at this time.
Some of the TAC's/TLETS/C2C are still in Clear (some of the time?)
I don't mess with it much anymore kind of got bored with it when they started the ENC stuff.

I never listened to Heights/Belton and all that.

Still like to link up ENC to the Correct Depts. but nearly impossible now.
If anyone had Access to and or Saved Unit Numbers?
I see an Alias now in new Ver of UT.

(edit) Too many changes used to be great system to listen to, lots of fun.
Even using Locution now for some of the Fire/EMS Calls ugh lol.

I heard some interesting radio traffic today. A DPS Trooper on GATTRS TG 3522 asked dispatch to call Bell County to find out what TG on their system he could use. He said he tried DPS "Channel" on the Bell County system, but got no answer and that none of the other channels worked.

After a couple of phone calls he was instructed to go to 8TAC91 and when that didn't work 8TAC90. He was finally able to get 8TAC91 working.

I wonder if his radio never got updated with the encrypted TGs?

Its been a while since I listened to bell county but I was listening when they went encrypted. almost the whole county was using I think patched talkgroups that changed every day or two. I'll have to see if I can find any logs from back then but I think I had to set wildcards in order to hear everything. When they first switched you could see the encryption TG active AND the patched TG that was unencrypted however all unencrypted traffic TG's were unknown so there was no easy way to know what department it was. They were doing this with EMS and fire as well. Not sure if they are still doing it this way but thats how it was last time I was listening. It was really chaotic.
