all last week I have been listening to Caledon talkgroup patched with others(don't know what the others were) on TG 2800.I had my PSR500 on the wildcard option.this was occurring from midnight til approx. 7am.

That's normal. Caledon OPP is usually patched with MNR 1NR003 and a couple of MTO groups.

If you have an old scanner you can learn how to tap your scanner.

Quite often, headphone jack audio is good enough - no tap required.
