Hello
I'm in Essex County I don't hear anything on the Bell FleetNet Ontario Provincial Police Zone 1. I haven't listen to my scanner for about 3 months it was really active then. So I don't know what happened why it's so quiet.
Thanks
TD

Have a look at these links, you live in an area where they are testing out the replacement for FleetNet:

I wonder if there's a bad connection in my SDS100?
Because if I move my power cord or elevate it, it gives me bars and reception.

Unfortunately the SDS is notorious for issues like this. Hopefully it's just a simple interference problem and nothing more serious.

Would that be more of an interference issue with the SDS or more a hardware issue?

It's most likely just an interference issue but that's common to any radio really. You'll always find systems where you have to find the sweet spot for listening. Unfortunately if you look in the Uniden forums you'll see the SDS has had a history of issues with poor reception resulting from cold solder joints and other issues. Hopefully they stay isolated!

Hello
Can you still listen to this new system?

Thanks

In regards to the new system it's too early to tell, but you can be assured the OPP will be fully encrypted. As for Ministry of Health etc that's still a big unknown.

Oh It's active, all the time. I heard a real nice group of comms last night regarding the most important thing in the world now on rarely used talkgroups.

I'm sure that when the new system is active where I live, someone will fill us in but for now FleetNet is busy

I'm in Haldimand County...on Lake Erie at the mouth of the Grand River. I just got a Home Patrol 2 and haven't heard a peep on Bell FleetNet. I hear more chatter from ATC in Buffalo. Before I invest in an external antenna, is there anything to hear in my area or has it all gone encrypted?

There IS a feed on my police scanner app for the OPP in my area but it's a different frequency all together, 412.4625, so likely a repeater. Interestingly, when I program that frequency into the scanner...nuthin.

No idea...I'm still new to this thing. My last scanner had a dozen red lights scrolling across the front of it :) I DO understand trunking though.
Where do I find the tower info for this area? Also this scanner has an Analyze function for trunked systems but I'm still trying to figure that out too. If the system is still active I'll keep chipping away at, but not if there's nothing there to hear.

Looks like you would want Cayuga tower on this map: Site Map: Bell FleetNet - Ontario Provincial Government Zone 1 Trunking System, Southwest Zone, Ontario

143.775

Use your postal code for Location and expand the Range as well. Check over the service types, the default ones are only Law Dispatch, Fire Dispatch and EMS Dispatch. Enable all Service types and you will her a lot more.

This is what you should be hearing: Haldimand County Ontario Live Audio Feeds

I am able to manually select the sites and channels. I get nothing on the Cayuga tower, but if I'm outside I can get activity on the Fonthill tower. MOH stuff.
BUT nether Cayuga or Fonthill towers are active in my Fleetnet database. (Not orange) They are not avoided. When I click on them it only takes me to the tower channels, and doesn't activate it.

Ignore that last part and picture. The Help for this screen explained that I have it backwards. Orange is avoided...grey is "good".
I will tinker some more...outside!
Thank you for the help.

It's odd, I'm having issues hearing FleetNet today too. I have all MTO, MOH, and Simcoe County OPP programmed but not a peep on any talkgroups. I hear the odd faint transmission on the voice channel. I will hopefully be hooking up my new Discone today that will solve my problems.
