Hi Folks, just checking to see if any of my neighbors to the north have any insight if Berkshire County fire departments may be transitioning to CoMIRS in the future, or if it has even been discussed.
The state took over Berkshire Control within the past year. They also hired a new radio systems manager, who is a local who knows the players and the area. He’s doing a great job cleaning up so far.
They’ve begun pushing CoMIRS availability out to Departments in chief meetings and encouraging them to upgrade equipment correctly when they do. It does not sound like there is a true clear time frame. Many of the towns will struggle without state grant assistance.
