Looking for help. Trying to find a better antenna for my Pro-96. I'm interested in trying to pull in 800Mhz signals from 20 miles away. The stock antenna cuts in and out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would try the one Radio Shack sells. Have been using this antenna on my handheld scanners for years and have a few of them. Seam to work alright, but 20 miles on 800 Mhz with a handheld scanner might be a stretch with the new P25 Systems being designed for only in county or city coverage to be able to re-use the frequencies more closely. See the link below to this product.

This antenna can also be found at several other places also.

That's a pretty iffy ask for any HT antenna. If you want consistently good reception, you're going to need a good base antenna outside up on a mast/pole.
