Free: Icecast server and Oddcast client- works for ALL scanners

) the free version to get any kind of music from online streaming

I stream using the FREE Windows Media Encoder. It works beautifully with custom rates and stuff. I've been running for weeks without even a single hitch.

It is a Gre PSR-500

I use both of the following:

1) Icecast/Oddcast with Talkgroup Monitor (for tags)

2) Streamwebtown

Both are completely free.

How in the world to you keep track of all that at once on one radio is beyond me.

Thats technically not a lot to listen to, about 270,000 people for those departments. Would be just like listening to Omaha Police and Fire only more dispatch agencies. If I lived up there in Cook County area, I would need like 5 scanners to effectively "track" whats going on. 2, maybe 3 alone just for Chicago city.

widows media encoder problems

About a year ago I set up win media encoder to broadcast from my radio shack via a home network into the house and over a wireless network. I could walk around the house with pda and hear live stream, and have my scanners close to tower for a short coax run. For some reason I cant get it too work now. It steams to main PC, but not wirelessly over laptop or pda. I have changed from a lynksis to bufalo router since then, and added a hughesnet internet system but I dont think that is the problem. I remember the first setup was very tempermental and then it mysteriosly started working, any suggestions?
