So i have fallen on hard times and had to dump my nextel contract and get a boost unlimited card, so i have a blackberry 8350i, and i put the sim card in it for boost, i get phone calls, but i can not get SMS text, i have researched for a few hours and i have concluded that it can be modified for SMS text, it needs to be reflashed to CDMA, i hear its easy, but i can't find the right info on google or anywhere else, does anyone know how this needs to be done?

To change it to CDMA would you not need to change the whole RF portion? Wrong band for CDMA is it not?

You were told wrong. The 8350i uses iDEN modulation. You could sell it and get a BlackBerry Curve 8330. You will also find more BlackBerry information on Crackberry, HowardForums, etc.

You'll just have to send picture messages as iDEN does not support SMS, only MMS. You don't have to include a picture in MMS, you can just send text.

Backwards, it doesn't support MMS, but with BB E-mail it is not really that big of an issue.
