Grew up in New Britain, Lentini's was on Winthrop Street in the mid 60s. I had a single-channel Hallicrafters CB-1
and bought all the crystals for it there. (Yeah, I'm THAT old! o_O) Also did business with Modern Electronics on
Farmington Ave. in Kensington. Remember buying a Regency ACT-T16K 16-channel scanner there. Place is a Subway
shop now...

Bought a Imax 2000 from them for a Cobra 2000 and a TS440. I don’t remember the year but we had a hurricane blow right up the middle of CT. Alex told me not to worry about the Imax…if it snapped he would get me a new one.

Lentini's...WB1FMP (Bruce) used to work there.
I remember Bill. I spent a bit of time there...when I had some time off.
I left CT in 2008, I heard they moved, then closed up for good.

Just read this and made many trips to Lentini’s from Glastonbury before we moved out of state…bought almost everything radiowise there and after they knew you, you could definitely get some good deals…also I remember most of the frequency guides everyone has talked about and still have a few …and RCMA small monthly magazine. I have a large number of them in the basement. In case anyone needs an issue😀
Speaking of blasts from the past, anyone remember Glastonbury PD on low band before their 800 digital? Not to mention low band state pd..

Yes I remember listening to the GPD On my Radio Shack scanner. I believe they only had 2 cars back then lol. One in the north and one in the south. I can still remember some of the officers names. 😅

I also remember working low band skip with Clearwater Fla. when I had desk duty 12m-8a. We had 2 possibly 3 units out in the field (Chief always wanted to save the Town money, so 12-8 BOs were not filled very often..call for mutual aid if you got jammed-up)...and they enjoyed it!

That was before the IBPO came on board...and Dom Pettenichi (formerly of East Haven PD) became President of our local. Also, our spendthrift Chief went adios.

Back when I drove a truck delivering airfreight all around CT I used to have a BC-560XLT mounted in it. I had all the State PD channels loaded in it and I always knew when and where they were most of the time. the CB did the rest along with the PassPort Radar detector, LOL !!! If you ask me, I hardly ever remember them asking someone to repeat themselves because they were unreadable and they sounded much clearer and louder than they do now. I also had BPT PD & Fire loaded in it and got them throughout most of the state as well, Those were the good ole days, that's for sure !!!

Nope that's when they had to use the imprint machine still.

Remember those days? :D
I used to work at radio shack in the early to mid 90s.
most of our transactions were thru the POS, but sometimes we had to break out the manual unit.
also back then, they would sometimes put a message on the screen, "PICK UP CARD" meaning that I keep the card and the credit card company would give me 50$. it happened a few times. i assume that was because people could still do those manual sales even if a card had been shut off
