A legitimate question? He started by stating that there are frequencies on 800 MHz that are blocked that will need to be unblocked to continue hearing what we listen to now. WHERE did that come from? The only thing that has EVER been blocked on 800 MHz on a scanner that COVERS 800 MHz is Cellular - nothing else - ever. As such, considering that the Cellular band won't be changing, and no changes to the blocked spectrum are required, the original post was simply wrong. There is no new 800 MHz spectrum, either.
He was complaining about an issue that doesn't exist, and stating it as if it were established fact. MAYBE if he asked it as a QUESTION the replies may have been different.
My thoughts? The original post was so severely flawed that it was more of a request for flames rather than anything remotely resembling fact. You simply don't make up an issue and complain about it without risking someone correcting you - perhaps harshly based on how outlandish your statements are, and you have to admit, these were pretty far out there.
