You guys need to CHILL. Echo was asking a legitimate question that I'll admit even I felt was a good question.

A legitimate question? He started by stating that there are frequencies on 800 MHz that are blocked that will need to be unblocked to continue hearing what we listen to now. WHERE did that come from? The only thing that has EVER been blocked on 800 MHz on a scanner that COVERS 800 MHz is Cellular - nothing else - ever. As such, considering that the Cellular band won't be changing, and no changes to the blocked spectrum are required, the original post was simply wrong. There is no new 800 MHz spectrum, either.

He was complaining about an issue that doesn't exist, and stating it as if it were established fact. MAYBE if he asked it as a QUESTION the replies may have been different.

My thoughts? The original post was so severely flawed that it was more of a request for flames rather than anything remotely resembling fact. You simply don't make up an issue and complain about it without risking someone correcting you - perhaps harshly based on how outlandish your statements are, and you have to admit, these were pretty far out there.

For a new guy, you seem pretty sure of your facts. You also seem pretty opinionated about the people who have been on these forums for a while. Suppose you just sit back and observe for a while instead of spouting off after being on the site for less than a couple of weeks. You also said:

I have pointed this out on several other posts.
Since you said that in Post #15 of your history, you really have been spending your time being critical instead of helpful. That being the case, I will repeat, perhaps it is time you sat back and observed for a while.

Well, although I can see where you were confused over the issue, and perhaps you jumped to the conclusion since Nextel uses cellurlar technology it was a cellular band swap; however, since this issue has been discussed at length and could have been easily found with a little looking.

You just couldn't let well enough alone. You, unlike RocketMan1 have been around here long enough to know that if you ask a question and thenn dispute the answer given, you are going to take heat.

It is my fervent hope that this thread dies with this post. 8)
