Oh yeah, total POS. The only thing that worked was the LED, which actually bothered to change color. None of the computers even recognized it, and even on a cell charger, never even tried to pair.

Thanks for the review, and thanks for rolling the dice for us! (y)

Bought this one, $10, free shipping from Pennsylvania.

This one arrived yesterday and while I can get it to work in the car, I have to pair it every time I use it. My car simply will not remember it like it does with my cellphone. I hooked it up to the line out jack on my Sangean DAR-101 for use with a Bluetooth speaker so I can listen to my BC 800XLT wherever I am in the house. When the other one comes, I'll hook it up to the stereo in the living room and keep both plugged into power and keep them on 24/7.

So, this brings up a question, does anyone know of a better quality transmit unit that will permanently pair up with a car Bluetooth system?

i bought one a few weeks ago and never got it to pair with anything i had or even another guys phone

I have these problems with the units once in a while. Power off the device and leave off for 5 seconds. Switch modes and power it on for a few seconds, then switch modes again and leave it off for a few seconds. When you next power it back on, tap it twice to enter pairing mode. This method always fixes the problem for me.

I'm thinking something like << THIS >> may be a better alternative for hooking up the scanner in the car. I'll be able to listen through the car stereo on an FM frequency, while still using my cell phone with WAZE at the same time. It even comes with a cable for the scanner. I'm going to keep looking for a while though as I don't like how big this unit is, I'd rather have something smaller that still has a jack.

<< THIS ONE >> Looks perfect for my SDS100 for use in the car. It has an audio in and even a USB port to keep the scanner charged while driving. Since it's small, I'll still be able to close the door and only have the cords peeking out. I'll see if I can pick one up locally before I press the buy button on Amazon.

If you wanted something portable I can 100% recommend this: good transmit range and the batteries last forever

I decided to go with the one pictured below. My reasoning is...

#1 It uses the cars power, so I will never have to charge it or worry about it going dead.
#2 It also has a USB jack so I can keep the SDS100 fully charged.
#3 I'll still have use of my phone & Waze in the car that can override the scanner audio as needed.
#4 It's inexpensive.

I'll just leave it plugged in with the cords attached, that way when I get in the car I'll only have plug in both cables and be "good to go". (No more pairing every time I want to use the scanner in the car).

Okay, the verdict is in on the << Pyle FM transmitter >>, it works great, with one caveat you MUST use a
<< Ground Loop Isolator >> if you are also going to power your scanner off the USB power port. With this setup you'll be able to hear your scanner at freeway speeds, while still having control of your phones direct connection and Bluetooth for Waze and phone usage. For me it's the perfect combination.

I had a blutooth gadget that I used on my handhelds in the car. For a very short while. The pop it made when the squelch closed was too much. Way way louder than the audio was, so I gave up. I tried a couple of other ones, and they did the same thing. I was using a GRE PSR-500 and the RS clones. Only handheld scanners I have now. The ham HTs I have don't need to have any help with the audio.

The PSR-500 has some DC, so a DC block or ground loop isolator should help.

Has anyone purchased one of these inexpensive Bluetooth receivers that has a wired output strong enough to supply line-level audio to their home stereo amplifier/receiver? Looking for something that won't require having to crank the home amp/receiver volume knob up abnormally high and with good enough fidelity to pass stereo streaming music from my cell phone via Bluetooth without breaking the bank. Thanks!

I use this to stream music from my phone, iPad to my stereo receiver. Works great.

Thanks for the heads up on the Esinkin! I wanted one for my audio/video control system in the living room and it's only 23 bux! It's also the same as the Logitech, so I ordered one.

I'm loving this Esinkin. I've paired it up with an old smartphone and have hundreds of songs to play, stream foreign music and news stations, and can even use the Scanner Radio Pro application to listen to out-of-area scanner feeds. They go together like milk and brownies, wine and cheese, soju and beer or tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.
