• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Scanning the forum, not seeing any threads on a Bluetooth remote speaker mic that works with the 7550e. An option that comes up on a search is PMMN4127 (WM500), but the more I read, the more uncertain I am about real compatibility.

Anyone have operating experience with the WM500 or some other variant?

Thanks in advance...

The RLN6562 is the BT mic for the XPR series
Thanks for the reply. I've seen that one referenced, as well. As you alluded, "proud" is a practical reference to /\/\. Have you happened to pair and use a 6562 with a 7550e? At 2.5 hunner bucks, I gotta think long and hard... sure is a steep climb outta the "cheap" radio and accy catagory. :)

Also if you look for RLN6562 or PMMN4096 on the used market make sure it doesnt have the blue dot. Same mic with different firmware for touch pairing to APX (mission critical) vs (Operations Critical).

Good to know. Wasn't sure about the blue-dot pairing v. "manual" pairing. Love how /\/\ segments XPR and APX for accessories. Great business strategy, but doesn't endear them to some of their users. I carry an APX and an XPR for different tasks/duties... had hoped I could do a one RSM for both (clearly, not at the same time), but... whatever.

I believe there was a model out there that *did* do both, I cannot recall which model it was though

the Ops critical can pair to APX if you use CPS to allow legacy pairing in the radio.

Be careful as there are at least 3 options: First the APX public safety with the blue dot, then the xpr 7000 version, then the new one that works with the R7.
