I copied the same from Briscoe Ranch last week but it was being ripped apart by data bursts from other conventional repeaters running 313 and 301 NACs

Back in STX after a quick vacation, noticed with the skip this morning the following:

171.7625 NAC A10 and 171.9625 NAC A10 are part of a network. Same transmissions, same unit IDs.
173.0875 NAC A21 - extremely busy
173.5500 NAC A22 - extremely busy
171.1750 NAC A10 - busy, overpowering the Uvalde CBP Trunk site on same frequency due to skip
172.8625 NAC 301 - Is in Carrizo Springs, and appears to be ICE, not CBP. Observed a completely encrypted convo between 63XXXXX IDs which are noted on this site as ICE. CBP is in the 510-527XXXX range.
172.3125 NAC 315 - Is simulcast with 166.9875 NAC 310 (D13 Carrizo Springs) and 169.9375 NAC 315 (D13 Tordillo/Maverick SO Tower). I am suspecting that this is El Indio tower and is replacing 168.0375 NAC 308 which I have not heard in months now. Will try to investigate this more to see if I am right.
166.5875 NAC 317 - This is the Del Rio Sector's Mines Rd Tower. When there are comms on the other D13 repeaters, it is simulcast with the same traffic, but when it is just data bursts, it operates independently from the others. I am not sure what the setup is at this point, but do know that it is on that tower along with 169.6375 NAC 301 which is Laredo Sector - Mines Tower.

Traveling from Bracketville to Eagle Pass today confirmed a few more:

D8 Net - Double Mountain - 170.125 NAC 297
D11 Net - Quemado - 169.9125 NAC 313

Also found a mistake of mine when entering the Maverick County frequencies and fixed it. Here is the corrected Nets:

D9 - 163.625 (300) Eagle Pass, 171.7625 (311) Quemado, 170.625 (299) Input
D10 - 163.775 (302) Eagle Pass, 171.2625 (312) Quemado, 165.850 (301) Input
D11 - 167.9625 (304) Eagle Pass, 169.9125 (313) Quemado, 168.850 (303) Input

To close out Maverick Co, I’ll need to see the Quemado repeater for D12 that goes with 169.7375 (306) Eagle Pass and continue to hunt the input side

Is that the Double Mountain southwest of Aspermont?
It is off Hwy 55 a little ways down FM 334 Between Uvalde and Rocksprings, right across from the entrance to the Drivetanks.com ranch where you can drive and shoot tanks.

29.42868, -100.12449

On topoquest.com it shows it as Double Mountain and even notes the radio tower up there.

Two more confirmations and a good general area narrowed down on another:

RX: 173.0625 (301 NAC) TX 162.7500 (325 NAC) - Very, very busy Botines Repeater in Webb County. Location: 27.80124, -99.460897
Mostly clear traffic, bodies crossing river, running back to river to get away, etc...
RX: 172.3125 (315 NAC) TX 164.2750 (307 NAC) - Very new addition to Del Rio D13 Net west of Encinal in Webb County at US 83 / SH 44 Intersection on a repurposed AT&T tower (the new one is built across the highway from it)
D13 Net now consists of:
TX: 164.2750 (307 NAC) - Input/Uplink
RX: 166.9875 (310 NAC) - Carrizo Springs
RX: 169.9375 (315 NAC) - Tordillo Ranch / Maverick SO GATRRS Tower
RX: 172.3125 (315 NAC) - Encinal (US 83/SH 44)

It seems that for the time being the El Indio tower is silent and no longer a part of D13/D14. With the expansion of the D9-D12 Nets in Maverick County along the river, it is possible that they are using the Eagle Pass towers now and making those Nets close to border only, while D13 at least is now more of a Dimmit/Zavala/North Webb Net. After checking all my logs, I haven't heard a single voice reference to D14, nor have I seen any of the old channels come alive anymore (168.0375, 168.3875) although I have weakly picked up 165.4375 (309 NAC) which used to be associated with D14 as the input a decade or so ago.

Now for the narrowed down: BEE00.4D5 Site 3.111 is definitely North Laredo, but is not on the Botines Tower. I am confident in that, and that 3.95 is Central to South Laredo based on my travel today.

I was picking up good skip earlier in the morning too, with a few new ones to me:
171.6125 (864 NAC)
168.8750 (264 NAC)
They were just P25 data bursts. 168.875 would line up with D1 or D2 net based on NAC order for Del Rio, but 171.6125 and 864 NAC don't compute with CBP. It is noted as being a USMS/Court Security associated NAC so I doubt it is CBP until I see some unit numbers.

I’ve got yet another repeater connected to the D13 network, signal was fair from 10 miles west of US 83/SH 44 intersection. I verified it synced up with 166.9875, 166.5875, 169.9375 and 172.3125 with databursts, unit IDs, and similar radio traffic when clear:

173.8500 NAC 315

Hard to tell where this is at, I’m sure I’ll find it one day but due to the location I was at, I am assuming somewhere in central to northwest Webb County. That makes 4 repeaters for the Carrizo Springs station Ops that are inside Webb County which is a Laredo North Station operational area.

Also passed through El Indio yesterday and stopped for a little while, tower is still silent even when Eagle Pass and Carrizo Springs Nets are busy.

Nothing new to report, still hoping to track down the tower for 173.850 NAC 315. It is still working within the D13 wide area Net, two CBP Del Rio stations dispatch off of it, Base 923 (Carrizo Springs Station) and Base 920 (either Eagle Pass or Uvalde, but usually encrypted).

I also picked up faint activity on 165.900 south of Uvalde which I suspect to be an input frequency, but I couldn't get a NAC.

Laredo is buzzing with activity on 4 towers I can hear regularly:
173.0625 NAC 301 - Botines
169.6375 NAC 301 - Mines Rd (Apache ranch)
172.0625 NAC 301
172.3000 NAC 301

Hoping for a good band opening again more in the river region than coastal/valley like it has been. Would love to get all the Laredo and Del Rio nets figured out.

Got some neat confirmations on some sites tonight:

All the A90 NAC sites are multicast:
172.2375 NAC A90
170.9875 NAC A90
171.3250 NAC A90
170.5375 NAC A90
Same unit IDs, data bursts time up as well. These are in the Corpus Christi area as I have heard US 77 locations near Kingsville, county road 38 in Robstown, etc.

All A10 NAC sites I have heard are the same:
169.8875 NAC A10
171.1750 NAC A10
171.9625 NAC A10
These appear to be Western RGV based and a few are already in the database.

I think this kind of helps my earlier assumptions that the RGV sector goes west to east, south to north with their NACs and Nets:
A10 - Starr-Hidalgo
A20 - Starr-Hidalgo-Cameron
A30 - Hidalgo-Cameron
A40 - Hidalgo-Cameron
A50 - Hidalgo-Cameron
A60 - Hidalgo-Cameron
A70 - Brooks-Jim Hogg
A80 - ?
A90 - Kleberg-Nueces

I think the A21, A41, A22 etc sites may be standalone repeaters, but I am only working off of skip observations so there may be more out there.

As for Laredo, I confirmed 173.050 NAC 301 near the airport with 163.500 NAC 325 input, and I think I can say that 172.300 NAC 301 is paired with 166.4375 NAC 325 as the input, but I don't know exactly where that tower is yet.

Two more frequent band opening targets located, both on a single roaming net:

171.3875 NAC 301 / 162.8875 NAC 325 - Zapata (Laredo Sector)
170.5000 NAC 301 / 162.8875 NAC 325 - Zapata County East or South (Laredo Sector)

Same traffic, same data/beacons. Didn't have time to pinpoint 170.500, but it faded as I went back toward Laredo on US 83. May be down toward Falcon Reservoir, may be on TX 16 toward Hebronville. 171.3875 and 4D5 Site 3.110 are both in the city of Zapata.

On another note, 172.300 is paired with 163.500 input in Laredo, I wrote the notes down wrong last visit. I was picking up data/beacons weakly on 166.4375 mobile that were timed up with 173.0500 tower, but no luck on confirming yet.

I also got a CBP repeater near the airport in Laredo on 408.375 NAC 301, and mobile data/beacons on 414.7875 unknown NAC.

Got some new confirmations fresh off the laptop! Ok, not that exciting but here we are:

Falfurrias Tower (ESE of town a bit but couldn't get close to it):
A70 Net - 171.2625 (A70) with input on 162.6250 (A70) confirmed
A71 Rept - 173.1375 (A70) with input on 164.9625 (A71) confirmed
A80 Net - 170.9875 (A80) with input on 162.7250 (A80) confirmed
A90 Net - 171.6625 (A90) with no input confirmed yet

Ramirez Tower (freestanding tower 1 mi north of SH 285 on SH 339)
A70 Net - 172.7125 (A70) also using 162.625 input

Hebronville North (could not locate tower but was strongest 10 miles north of Hebronville along SH 16)
169.9125 (301) with input on 162.9250 (325) confirmed

Benavides Tower (could not locate but both are in the area)
A70 Net - 170.3375 (A70) also using 162.625 input
170.100 (301) - input not found yet

There is some crossover in this area between Laredo and RGV Sectors as Laredo's Hebronville and Freer stations cover the interior counties more so than the RGV stations. I figured there would be a tower somewhere in Alice or Orange Grove but nothing came in strong in either town.

This is pointing me more toward an educated guess that each of the A10-A90 Nets are individual wide area nets for each of the 9 stations along the border and coast:

A10 - Rio Grande City Station
A20 - McAllen Station
A30 - Weslaco Station
A40 - Harlingen Station
A50 - Brownsville Station
A60 - Fort Brown Station
A70 - Falfurrias Station
A80 - Kingsville Station
A90 - Corpus Christi Station

The odd NACs sandwiched in between are secondary Nets and repeaters that correspond to each station. A71 was Falfurrias Local HQ, A21 and A22 are local repeaters in McAllen, etc.

I'll check out Corpus and Kingsville areas possibly next week if my schedule allows. Doubt I'll get to the valley any time soon but even if I don't, sorting out everything above the Valley check points has been a huge undertaking since 2023 got underway.

Well, I have to say that the tropo conditions in the coastal area of South TX combined with the reuse of several frequencies has made this a lot of fun, but I have some new findings after travelling down to the Sarita checkpoint and back today:

A90 Net - 171.3250 - Calallen/Robstown/Violet (basically NW Corpus) - can't pinpoint this tower but it is booming without an antenna at the 69E/37 split
A90 Net - 172.2375 - Corpus Christi downtown/shoreline area tower - again...can't pinpoint just yet but it is booming in that area
A90 Net - 172.4125 - Confirmed on Kingsville Tower
A90 Net - 171.6625 - Confirmed on Riviera Tower by dollar general. Previously thought to be in Falfurrias area.
A80 Net - 170.9875 - Confirmed on Riviera Tower by dollar general. Previously thought to be in Falfurrias area.
A70 Net - 170.3375 - Confirmed on Riviera Tower by dollar general. Previously thought to be in Benavides area. (this one has me scratching my head because it was so strong from Benavides a week ago)
A60 Net - 172.2625 - Confirmed on Armstrong Tower (about 5-6 miles east of Armstrong on King Ranch coastal pasture)

I also got 170.4375 (C10) going north out of Corpus around Mathis medium strength.
Still trying to locate 171.7625 (A90). It is stronger between Corpus and George West but I haven't gotten close enough to it to actually locate it.
172.4125 (A30) is going to be a Weslaco Station tower somewhere between Encino and Raymondville if I had to make an educated guess. The Valley is going to take days to sort out when I have the time and a reason to be that far down there.

There is an FBI Net of three repeaters also down in the area, 170.6750 (167), 170.8375 (167) and 171.9875 (167).

I am thinking National Seashore is using 170.9125 (864 NAC), although it could be anything else Federal as well, but it was pretty strong through Kingsville down to Riviera.

I'm the Edinburg and McAllen area. If there is anything I can help with let me know or we can meet up and compare notes. I picked up some frequencies in Rio Grande City but have not checked the list here.

Basically all I’m doing is trying to get close to known towers or find them so that the database is as accurate as it can be. If the signal is strong in the valley, it still may be 20 miles away because nothing is stopping it. Instead of just having 5 channels with A10 NAC and calling them all RGC/Roma, I want to get them geographically identified. More like “RGC, Roma, San Ignacio, Falcon Dam”

Another thing is that sometimes there are multiple nets overlapping on their towers. Weslaco Station probably shares towers with Harlingen, McAllen and Falfurrias on its fringes

Here's my little contribution. I'm currently in Donna, TX and I'm hearing quite a bit of chatter (2-3x a day) on CBP channel 169.887500 CBP Weslaco 2. It's quite sporadic and when I've noticed it, its general transmissions like "I'm going to gate 2", etc, etc. Also, I think I'm only hearing one side of the convo.
