Does anyone know if Boston Fire has stopped transmitting the beeps for the box alarms. I have not heard them in sometime.. thanks much If they did stop that is the end of an era for sure.
Could have sworn I heard some this past week. Might have been in my memory, but now will keep a closer eye/ear on themDoes anyone know if Boston Fire has stopped transmitting the beeps for the box alarms. Thanks for the Confirmation of my Sanity JoeAbsolutely have not stopped transmitting alarms over the radio or the telegraph system!

Joe you mind me asking, what encodes the box tapouts and how is that audio injected into the UHF CH1. Is it just through E&M on a CCGW or some third party integration? I notice that field units can key over the box tappings and the audio gets mixed but FAO seems to be locked out from Txing for the duration.I should point out that if listening over ZELLO, you won't hear the beeps due where the console audio is fed to ZELLO
FAO is able to talk over the tones. The tone generator output is fed to the CCGWJoe you mind me asking, what encodes the box tapouts and how is that audio injected into the UHF CH1. I just asked this question on a municipal fire alarm forum last week. The Digitize systems have an output called "Radio Beep" on them, and L.W. Bills made a similar system that can interface a Gamewell system to the radios. I don't know if Boston is using a Digitize system or something else.(W)hat encodes the box tapouts
The broadcastify feed appears to be pulled from broadcastify calls platform which is trunked, so either listening to 800 analog or metro700 digital patches of BFD. Those patches including the zello are console audio which as previously stated does not have the box tapouts, nor MDC bursts since modern Motorola consoles (7500E, AXS, etc) mute MDC bursts completely and do it very well.i go to Boston Fire on Broadcastify, do not hear them there... Im not familiar with Zello... is there another way i should be listening??? thanks for advice
Digitize provides the timing and key closure. The tone generator was built in-house and is always on.I just asked this question on a municipal fire alarm forum last week.
