BOULDER – Police are investigating a one-car crash that killed one person and injured three others early Saturday morning.
Boulder Police say the single-car crash occurred just before 4 a.m. on Canyon Boulevard, right at the mouth of Boulder Canyon.
Police say a 37-year-old man, who was a passenger in the Volkswagen Rabbit, was ejected from the vehicle and killed.
The 27-year-old driver was airlifted to Denver Health Medical Center with serious injuries to his lower extremities, according to authorities.
Two other men in the car were injured and taken to Boulder Community Hospital, according to police.
Police say they believe the Volkswagen was heading west, up the canyon, when it left the roadway. Investigators are looking into whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
The identities of the victims were not immediately released.
Police say no one has been arrested in the case, but they continue to investigate.
