I have a BC2500XLT with the BP2500 battery pack. The pack is dead
and I would like to rebuild it using one of the inserts available thru
the internet. My problem is that I do not have any idea about how to
get the battery pack apart to do this. I am a bit afraid to try it as I
don't want to mess up the battery. Any help would be very much
appreciated. I use this scanner for aircraft (civil and military) and
have no problems with the often noted interference which was
eliminated in the BC3000XLT model.
BTW: The radio works great with 9.6 volts plugged into the 12V
jack on the battery pack. My guess is that anything over 8 volts
would work fine. I believe that a regulator in the pack holds the
charging/operating voltage at 6 volts which is the output of the
battery pack.
Many thanks for any help.
