In Boston today noticed on a magnet mount hi band antenna on rear roof passenger side on a unmarked SUV. Saw another about 2 hours later on an unmarked SUV BPD Spec.Ops, with the same antenna. I called a friend on the BPD and he told me to meet up with him. He had a "guest" in his car and showed me the set up. Don't wanna mention here the agency of the "guest". The antenna goes to a real nifty what looks like a old fashion cell bag phone. It has a full mic (03) and a cigarette plug. He opened the bag and it a no face plate apx 8550. The guest also showed me his APX 8000 with extended battery. He told me there are a couple "guests" in town.
During the evening I saw a unmarked with the normal 2 BPD antennas and a 800 in a mag mount. MSP also doing ride alongs. Chatted with them at a corner and the Plaincloths trooper had his 03 head hanging off the mirror connected to a APX 6000 on the back seat.
Very interesting for an afternoon in Boston.
