Brampton Transit new frequencies

I was out around Brampton today with my scanner. I started scanning the frequencies from 800 to 900mhz. I found 2 new Brampton Transit frequencies. They are 807.0250 and 820.0250. I will keep trying for others. I heard that there were up to 10 new ones. When I find more I will post them. If any others find any please post too.

I also scratch my head a bit. The 800MHz band plan has repeater inputs 806-824MHz, for outputs in the 851-869MHz range. If you are hearing inputs, check up 45MHz i.e. 852.025 and 865.025. This seems unlikely and TAFL shows none of these frequencies. It may be some sort of image from the 900MHz band. Are you in fact using a BC780XLT?

Brampton Transit Frequencies

Information on the new Brampton Transit Radio System:
LTR Trunked
Licensed to Mobile Business Company, Call Sign CZD217, Transmitter Site CN Tower Toronto.
Frequencies used:
937.0125.0375.0500.0750.1625.1750.1875.2000.2125.2250.2375.2500
938.5125.5375.5625.5750.5875.6125
939.1375.1625.1875.2125.5750.5875

It appears that each bus has a separate ID; the following ID's were noted:
1-01-171 1-01-162
1-01-126 1-01-111
1-01-169 1-01-192
1-01-178

Bus drivers cannot talk to each other; all communications go through dispatch. One of the dispatchers has a thick British accent, this should help you identify a Brampton conversation.

Good work !

I wish my scanners tracked LTR, but I've put the freq's in anyways.

One thing though, only these freq's are licensed to this address in Brampton

Mobile Business Communications Ltd.
939.8250 100 COUNTY COURT BD ,BRAMPTON
939.8375
939.8625
939.8750

I'm thinking that only these would be required for B.T's needs, though I may be wrong.

Thanks for sharing the info.

I notice there are 24 frequencies under that licence, which means that either some are not used, or there are more than one LTR system (limit 20 channels per system).

The Home Repeater order is important, except for PRO-92/2067 users. If I were there I'd be on the case...

I live in Toronto and I've got no problem hearing traffic on the MBC systems.

I wouldn't have a problem using a computer to run trunker or something to try and nail this system down...but my question is - is there a version of trunker or something that does LTR systems?

As well...there's been lots of talk here and other places about which system it is...the one in Brampton or the one on the CN Tower. I would be inclined to believe it's the one in Brampton...it seems really stupid to put BRAMPTON transit on a system in TORONTO when there's already a system in Brampton. Plus, I heard from a tech that Brampton Transit will be on a completly new system...ie...new for even MBC, which leads me to believe that it's the system listed in Brampton.

Maybe someone could clear this up?

My understanding is that this is a temporary fix and the Brampton has been piggy back onto MBC for now. The frequencies that I've got doesn't seem to work on my BC780. It doesn't want search for ID's properly. I was told that they were using the county court tower with 10 frequencies they are using.

Unless the LTR Home Repeater IDs for all channels are known and you program the 780 bank positions according to it, you won't be able to scan/search properly. The best you can do is sit on each channel in manual mode and watch the ID's go by.

It's not safe to assume that the HRs are in ascending order starting at 1. For a 5-channel system it is more likely 1-5-9-13-17. You could try that but no guarantee.

To track this system properly, SOMEONE (it doesn't matter who) needs to spend a bit of time to figure it out. There are some techniques depending on what equipment is available.

I guess we need someone to sit at County court and figure this one out, I know I don't have the equipment but hope someone out there would take the time to figure this LTR lineup. I wait patiently for someone to share.
