I just purchased an Uniden BCD325P2 to monitor P25 systems and some DMR activity in my area. I purchased the DMR upgrade. I programmed several DMR systems both using import from FreeScan and manually. I'm using an outside antenna and the signal level is very good, so it is not because of a lack of RF. For some reason, I have not been able to receive any DMR traffic. Analog works fine. I am starting to think I have a defective unit. Am i missing something? Thanks for any help!

Welcome to the RR forums. First and foremost: FreeScan does not support DMR, MOTOTRBO or EDACS Provoice [source here]
Highly recommended to invest in Proscan (which does support DMR and the other modes). You get a fully-functional free 30 day trial then $50.00 gets you two product activations & periodic app updates. Freescan can be considered abandonware at this point since there haven't been any app updates in about 10 years & zero support for the most recent gens of Uniden scanners (x36HP & SDSx00). With Proscan you can utilize your RR login with your premium sub to import info directly from the RRDB. Pages 23 & 24 of the Proscan manual tell you more

After you purchased the upgrade & received the key, you entered it into the scanner and it accepted it, correct? Press Menu then scroll to Settings > Upgrade > Upgrade DMR/MotoTRBO and if the key is installed the screen will say "DMR/MotoTRBO has already been activated..."

OK. I deleted the systems and reprogrammed them using ProScan. I am now receiving DMR but only on one system and one talk group. I've been scanning for about an hour and it is unlikely that there is no other traffic. Question - should I be using ID Search or ID Scan?
I believe the difference is: ID Scan will only stop on pre programmed ID while ID Search will find ID that are not programmed into the system.
I just learned of this on my BCD996P2 and that is the case on P25. DMR - I have not tried it yet so I'm not sure.

Is said system documented in the RRDB? If so can you please post the link? If you scan more than one system and more than one site on any given system at a time then you'll likely miss traffic. Always best to scan only one system & one site at a time if you don't want to miss traffic on any particular system: See Holding...
Everything seems to be working except I haven't heard anything on a group 3 system. Is there anything I need to know about a group 3 system in terms of programming? I thought I saw something regarding the latest firmware update (1.11.07).
There was an issue with the latest 325P2 firmware with DMR if I recall. You could go to the one that was a week or two prior. DMR TIII worked before with the exception of Hytera Tier III.
1.11.06 worked well but broke something with P25 NAC decoding in conventional search. The 1.11.07 fixed that but I recall may have broke something again in DMR.

My 325P2 is on the latest firmware and it works well DMR systems. Just listening to transit bus system here in Richmond, VA this evening.
It's either a programming issue or the system isn't very busy.
DMR trunked systems need to have the frequencies in correct LCN to track and follow the system properly.
The 325P2 doesn't have the LCN frequency finder that the higher Uniden models have. It the system isn't documented with LCNs on thr database on this site you may he able to try to move the order of them around in your programming.
