I see on the Brevard County 800 mhz page that there is a talk group for dispatch and one for paging. Whats the differences between them? I know paging has tones on the talk group. Just want to listen to know what calls goes on in my area (Stations 47-48 Viera)

Thank you,

Paging

The Paging channels are one way transmissions from the communications center.
The tones then who is going to where for what. The responding units then switch
to the Dispatch channel to call the communications center to say they are
responding, on scene, assuming patient care, clearing and returning and other
related traffic. Your in District 40 with Stations 47 and 48. So you would listen
to Page 40 then Disp 2 on the Rockledge Site. Now if it was a Fire or fire alarm
they would switch to a TAC channel to keep the main Dispatch channel free for
medical calls. The other calls can last an extended period of time.

Hope that helps explain it
