Brightness on pro 106?

I have just got my second 106. All the lights on it are a lot brighter than the one that I have had for 6 months.
I am not talking about the contrast settings. Can that be possible or is there a setting for this that I have not seen? Thanks.

pages 102 and 103, 105 (to change intensity) incase you don't have a manual handy. i know there are ways to change the "brightness" of the lights...but i don't have a 106 infront of me atm. if this doesn't help or you know all that...feel free to disregard.
