There are a few items that could be an issue. first is LCN and making sure you have programmed the freq's in that order and with RS scanners you have to start with channel 1, not 0. So if you enter it into a bank skip the first spot, Like 00 or 100, 200... and start in 01 or 101, 201... Next is your ID's and if your banks are opened to receive all trafffic on the system or just to receive the ID's you have programed in. Another way to tell if there is a freq. problem is if you are unable to follow the entire radio conversation, when there is a break in the conversation and the system switches freqs do you pick up on it or do you lose the converstaion.

Ok, here is how I programmed it last night.

I turned it on and did a reset on the scanner.

I then pushed the PGM button, then the Trunk button,

I then selected 1 so that the frequencies would be in the first bank.

Using the arrow keys, I then selected the EDACS system.

Then I pushed the E (SVC) button.

So now the scanner is on channel 1 and I entered the frequencies in the following order:

1 - 856.7875
2 - 856.8375
3 - 857.7875
4 - 857.8375
5 - 858.7875
6 - 858.8375
7 - 859.7875
8 - 859.8375
9 - 860.7875
10 - 860.8375

After I entered in all of the frequencies, I pushed the SRC button and it went and found the control channel.

I can hear a little bit of conversations, but I'm not sure if I'm not getting all of it or just not hearing it at all.

I have not done anything with the TalkGroup Ids.

Okay, I'm not quite sure how to do that, I have read through the book, but don't think I understand it.

Can somebody provide a simple example ?

With the 94, you can listen to tg's without programming them in.

Just make sure you're in search mode.

I can't remember button for button on how to program tg, but it's fairly simple. With the 94, you've pretty much done the hard part.

Another thing to listen for, is if you are hearing 4-5 beeps after someone talks, if so something is not right. You would still be in conventional mode if this is happening.

Well I think I have it working now. I reset it again last night and started over.

I'm hearing quite a bit now so it appears to be working.

Thanks for the help everybody.
