Broken pair of IC-2Ss :( can you help?

hey guys,

i bought these on ebay and of course, just my luck, they're DOA.

the only thing that works is when they're plugged in or charged, and turned on, no display, lights or anything. open up the squelch though, and you get static.

both of them do this.

how can i fix them? are they fixable?

If they are anything like the SAT series, after being dead for a while you may need to reinitalize the CPU it is in owners manual near front I think or in tech section on the Icom website. Need to hook radios up to power to recharge the memory battery and then do key sequence press and hole MONITOR and LIGHT and turn on to reset the radio. It is in the owners manual on the ICOM website, just checked.
