Brown co going digital??

I heard a rumor that Brown co Wi may be going digital in the next 6 to 12 months. Can anyone confirm this rumor?

I’m looking at either the Pro-97 or Pro-96 and having this information would help me justify the cost of the digital scanner

According to one of the County Supervisors, "that 'rumor' has been going around for nearly 6 years." According to her, "there is no support for it in the taxpayer base and no support in the county communications advisory board and without funding and support, the proposed project is on hold. $20 million is not a realistic figure to replace a system that is fully functional as-is." (Her words - not mine.)

Interesting. I'll have to take a look at the County Board proceedings to see what I can see. I guess Brown Co going digital may not need to play a big part in a scanner buying decision.
