Brushfire In Progress

Just an llittle update:

The "Day Fire" is at 99,950 acres as of last night. The incident is now under an Area Command, and they have ordered up 12 Type-3 Engine Strike Teams and 19 Type-1 Engine Strike Teams for this weekend. That is a total of 155 more Engines. This in anticipation of another East wind event starting Friday and lasting thru the weekend.

This is going to be a long weekend . . .

A long weekend indeed. We are hearing so much about when the fire started, how the weather will play a part and so on. I don't think I have heard one mention on just who started the "day fire", and what repercussions there will be for the person(s) responsible. Anyone know?

they just called out a local strike from Monterey county yesterday that will be 2 that county has sent down there

I just found out CDF is also sending a Striike Team to cover the SRA areas of the County. They'll be staged in the Simi Valley area tomorrow (and thru the weekend - I guess).
