In case anyone hasn’t heard, Buffalo Fire dispatch moved from Ellicott Street over to the 3rd floor of the Erie County Public Safety Building at 45 Elm Street yesterday (Nov 11). Same frequencies, protocols, and staff, just a change of location.

Only console positions were moved. The balance of the system is intact.

What would be the chance of an equipment upgrade in the near future? Or even a transition to P25?

All main base stations and antennas are still at City Hall and Delaware Park. The tower at the PSC is not a very high site. The Motorola "console" positions at the PSC are brand new. They were not moved over from the 332 Ellicott Street location.
