You were correct above/before. I am downloading INTO THE SOFTWARE TO EDIT BEFORE UPLOADING INTO THE RADIO. I can edit what I want out once this is accomplished; just need sites/TGs in bases in Oregon and Washington to upload; not the entire system. You hit on that before and were correct.
So that is the problem...not the speed, it just overloads my software. But according to Gommert, it's not happening to him?????
Just don't have the answer.
I just re-read this thread and while I cannot determine what could be the issue, (although I suspect something with your DSL), I do have a couple of suggestions that I hope may help.
1. Have you tried downloading ARC-XT to your WIN 10 desktop, and running it from there? This would eliminate the WIN 7 laptop as a source of the problem. I don't think you'd be running afoul of Gommert's licensing for the software, if you deleted it from the laptop, and reloaded it on the desktop--you'd still only have one running copy of the software.
2. Do you know anyone who has ARC-XT PRO who could provide you with the file you need so you can at least get up and running while you troubleshoot the issue? I have ARC-XT Basic, so not certain if any file I provide you will work with the PRO version of the software, but I'm happy to try, if you'd like.
3. Last point--and this goes to the downloading issue... I'm not remotely any type of expert, but there are known issues with ISPs "cutting out" when you download large files. Check out this article for ideas that might ultimately resolve your download issue:

Most of the suggestions aren't really applicable to your situation of downloading via the Butel software, but starting at suggestion 5, I think there are some great ideas that you may want to try. Certainly a simple reboot or updating your modem firmware isn't a bad start. I'd also check the modem driver suggestion--updating or rolling back a driver has gotten me up and running in the past.
I hope this helps--this kind of thing can be really annoying.
Good luck!
