Yep, they are also a member here. Bought 3 SDS200 scanners from them.Webtron-x is also a real store that sells scanners and other electronics.
Here is another advantage to Amazon:

I’ve bought 2 scanners from Webtron-X. No issues at all.Yep, they are also a member here. Bought 3 SDS200 scanners from them.
The database on the SDS100 and other SD card scanners is updated weekly using the free Uniden Sentinel software that gets it’s data from the Radio Reference database. A premium membership at Radio Reference is not required.I'm thinking Amazon is probably the best option, based on your input/suggestions.
How is the database on that scanner updated? RR?
Do you have to be a premium subscriber?
.Thank you.
Thanks to all for the input.
Buy it from ScannerMaster or BearCat Warehouse, but not Amazon. If you buy it on Amazon, you could be buying it from 'John Q. Public', who could be a criminal. Instead of someone who actually knows something about scanners.Has anyone on this site bought an SDS100 off Amazon recently?
Was it a good experience and was it a newer version?
Are you glad you did it?
Any problems?
Thanks,
Mike
.I know I've seen this answer before, but which digit in the SN shows the date of production?

Just curious, in your example what year is the 8?.
Look at the serial number tag under the batteries...
The number after the "Z" (or might be an "A") denotes the year of manufacture - that is the only date info contained in the S/N. The last 4 digits denote its sequence in that production year:
1 = 2021
2 = 2022 etc.

2018 first release.Just curious, in your example what year is the 8?
And if it was 2008? Just trying to figure it out just curious. Thanks2018 first release.
I've never seen how Uniden would denote different decades in the S/N if production were to span that length of time..And if it was 2008? Just trying to figure it out just curious. Thanks
Where it was made. 8= VietnamJust curious, in your example what year is the 8?
So are you saying @fxdscon and others are not correct?Where it was made. 8= Vietnam
No! The 2nd "8" is where it was made, the list of zeros and numbers is the sequence number. The numbers upto (and including) the Z are the model number.So are you saying @fxdscon and others are not correct?
