I've recently purchased the dmr/nxdn/provoice keys for the uniden sds 100. I'm trying to program key numbers into scanner under upgrade section of settings but once i finish entering it seems to not enter my key number or save it. Any idea on what I'm doing wrong and steps to correct this. Thanks!

Yeah it's not hard to do. I bought all the keys for my units, even though I don't think there's any ProVoice around here at all, just because I wanted them wide-open. If they add additional protocols later I'll probably add those too unless they're just outrageously expensive. But it's not hard to do, just kind of cumbersome between the registration, then the way you have to use the dial to enter them on the radio. But once you get the hang of it you can do it pretty quickly, and you only ever should have to do it once per key per radio.
How do you save key entry after you enter into scanner? i purchased these keys as well but cant get scanner to save them for some reason.

I'd have to look in the documentation to be sure but if I remember correctly I just pushed the multifunction dial once the key was entered, and at that point the scanner started working for a few seconds then it unlocked the mode once it got done. It's in the docs, but I think it was just a press of the multifunction dial once I got done entering each one.

Actually from the instructions above, this is how you get it to accept the key: "When you have these done and have purchased and generated the key, press Menu on your scanner, Settings>Upgrade DMR. You will enter in your number by turning the knob on top of the unit and pressing 6 to go forward and press yes(E) to save the number."

Go to the scanner's menu, and scroll down to Settings and select it by pressing the Enter key.
Look for the line labeled Upgrade.

Once you access that, you'll see the three upgrades available. Select the one you want to enter. Uniden emails you a receipt for the purchase and the purchased key's number. You can also check the key's numbers in "My Scanners" on the MyUniden site after logging in.

You rotate the scroll knob to fill in each letter, as well as the 'Dashes' (-) between them. Scroll to the character, then use the soft keys (under the keypad) to move the cursor to the next slot. The left side key, normally used for systems, moves the cursor left. The right side, channel, key, moves it to the right. Scroll to fill in each character, then move to the right, for the next one. The characters are A thru F, and numbers 0 through 9. Be careful. You might the character B for an 8, or vice versa. Enter all the groups of characters. Do not press the Enter key until you have entered all the characters as well as the dashes between them. That's the thing that trips so many people up, pressing the Enter key after each character. You'll get an error for invalid key if you hit Enter too soon.
