If the waterfall display was added, the price would have been even higher...making it even more expensive!!!
Icom could sell 2 versions or make it a special order. When I had the 52a, was nice to use at times. I have a LAN IQ with the waterfall display. Works great.

It would be great if the Icom CS-R15 programming software was available in the US. I’m still very pleased with the R15, lots of things to learn though.

I want to know why it cost more than the Uniden SDS 100? Radio World in Toronto list it for $1011.00 can. where as the SDS100 is $974.00 can.??? No digital, only scans to 500mhz.

Likely a question for Radioworld. CDN dollar is also pretty weak, and maybe they’re adding an extra 25% because of you know what.

Thinking about getting a R15 before the price goes up. I know it's already overpriced but checking everyone is still pleased with the R15. There are just a few YouTube reviews from the UK but no detailed review that I could find.
Thanks

It is an excellent choice before the tariffs increase the price. Icom quality, excellent on VHF air and other analog reception

Just got an R15 a few weeks ago, and am very happy with it for the airshow and railfan applications I'm using it for, and am especially happy to have acquired one before prices go to the moon.

Heres a quick ARC15 file of the basic nationwide air frequencies listed on the RR import. Make sure to set the R15 for SD Card Mode to write from ARC15 to the radio. MENU>SET>FUNCTION>USB Connect>SD Card Mode. Then use the SD card menu to import within the R15. MENU>SET>Import/Export>Import>Memory CH>ALL>(filename).

Has anyone downloaded or tested the ICOM software CS-R15? Is it free or a fee? Checked the ICOM website and could not download and could not find pricing.

There are dealers in Europe that advertise the software (CS-R15), but none in the United States. The European dealers seem to be asking around $50 USD for the product plus shipping because the software actually comes on a USB thumb drive. Thus, product plus shipping (but probably not sales tax) is likely to be around $65 USD. I have not used the ICOM version, I use the RT Systems version of software.

Will the ICOM supplied USB Type C cable work with RT Systems and Butel software or do I need a special PC cable? I assume yes but wanted to double check.

For RT_System, all you need is the download. The cable from ICOM works. I just used a standard USB-C cable.

I can't speak to Butel software.

Regarding RT Systems would it be possible to download software on two PC's with ONE license? For example, I need RT on two W10 machines or one W10 and one W11 machine? I was thinking if I have a CD I could download it to two machines. Not sure if this is possible. I just contacted RT support to see if possible, using a CD. Thanks

I have never tried running the RT Systems software on more than 1 PC. When you purchase the RT Systems Software, you download it BUT they also send you a validation key to your email that you provided that you have to enter to activate the software.

Added - if you go to the RT Systems site and scroll down to the bottom and click on the "Terms and Conditions", it describes what you can and can't do with the software.
