By issues do you mean the thing is deaf,(not even getting the weather stations)? If that's the case, better cable will probably help. The problem maybe signal over load, if all you're getting is noise, maybe a trip to Ebay for an RF attenuator will help, those 760's are really prone to intermod. Hope this helps.
It's the ST-2 Scantenna incase anyone didn't know what the ST-2 was.
I'm having some problems with 400mhz stuff. This is Boonie land canada so everything is still untrunked and undigital.
I have a problem getting the EMS which runs on the 400mhz. The ST-2 has a matching transformer that takes the 300ohm from the antenna and puts it into 75ohm.
I've tried changing scanners, power adaptors for scanners, shortening the cables and nothing changes so the only 2 things I figure left is a complete cable swap which I will need to wait until the snow melts OR that transformer thing is messed up.
Has anyone delt with the matching transformer before? Could I just connect the coax directly to the antenna without the transformer? Or where I can get a heavy duty one. Because the one that came with the antenna, when I was screwing the coax onto it the whole thing was spinning so I figured whatever is inside got twisted and messed up.
Please keep in mind i'm completely antenna stupid. I'm more of the streaming scanner online person(i've put many peoples scanners online for them) but when it comes to antennas I am completely n00bish.
i've attached a zip to this post. Inside is a mp3 of 154.5400 which is another EMS freq I could use but if you listen you will know why I can't. Anyone know what causes the noise on this?
