On February 17TH 2011, At 13:51 hours The Coatesville Fire Department was dispatched for Ladder 41 and an Ambulance to assist the Thorndale Fire Company on a reported house fire.
Ladder 41 made the response at 13:53 hours and was the first arriving unit to find fire showing from the roof line and Bravo side of the house. Engine 38 was the next arriving unit dropping a 5" inch supply line from a near by fire hydrant. Their crew also deployed several 1 3/4 hand lines to begin an aggressive attack on the fire while Ladder 41's crew deployed the ladder and went to the roof to begin ventilation.
Assistant 38 (D'Amico) requested the "Working Fire Dispatch" at 14:00 hours which added additional units from Medic 93, and Engines from the West Bradford, Modena, East Brandywine Fire Companies. Assistant 38 arrived and assumed the "Honeymead Command" and also requested a response from the utility companies and Fire Marshall's.
Additional Engines from the Downingtown Fire Department were requested to the scene for manpower. The Lionville Fire Company arrived and handled the "RIT"assignment as firefighters operated at the fire scene. The Good Will Fire Company was requested to the scene for the air bank to refill the empty cylinders the firefighters used to battle the fire.
Chief 38 (Taylor) released all units with the exception of the Thorndale, Coatesville, East Brandywine, and the VA Fire Company which remained onscene for overhaul.
The fire was placed under control by the command at 14:24 hours with the final Coatesville units clearing the scene at 15:50 hours.
