By Thorndale Fire Company January 13, 2011 At 14:45 on Thursday January 13th, 2011, Station 38, Engine 76, Station 41 Ambulance, and Medic 93 were dispatched to the westbound lanes of the Route 30 Bypass West of Route 340 for an Auto Accident with Entrapment.
Shortly after Rescue 38 arrived on the scene and confirmed the report. Assistant 38 established "Route 30 Command" as crews from Rescue 38 and Engine 76 set up for the extrication. Command requested a "Fire Police Task Force" to close the westbound lanes at Route 340. The "Fire Police Task Force" consisted of fire police and traffic units from Station 37, 39, 45, 46, and 49.
Extrication of the patient was completed in thirteen minutes by crews removing the front and rear driver's side doors as well as the B-post. The crew from Rescue 38 and Engine 38 assisted EMS with patient packaging prior to clearing.
