Can i pick up my local Pd

I lost my local pd on radio shack 197 a couple yrs ago and I went long as I can . I gre up listening with my parents. Looking at the uniden sds 200 (sdc) can't remember is there a way I can see qhat they are on now and a $700.00 scanner will definitely work ? Soddy daisy tn pd .... thank you

According to the current database Soddy Daisy located in Hamilton County is on the TACN system and is not encrypted. If the terrain and other factors are favorable to your specific location (for example no mountains blocking the tower) you should be able to hear them. I could hear Hamilton county well up I-24 to Monteagle.
