I am almost ready to purchase at BT receiver. As I understand it, it can scan only ONE system at a time. Can I store multiple systems and quickly switch to a different system if necessary? For instance, I live near a firehouse. If I am monitoring the local utility company, and the siren sounds, can I quickly switch to the township system?

I am presently SCANNING Eight P25 Phase II systems from Rhode Island to NYC and in between ( Ct. ). I have a 450 mhz. yagi and 700-800 Mhz yagi on a T connector connected to the unit. I have selective talkgroups active for each system. Working flawlessly. Performs equally to my G5 and outperforms my SDS100.
YMMV
You can also mix conventional channels in the scan sequence. Todd is continuously updating the features and firmware.
And yes, you can switch to monitoring 1 system with a simple click. I had the unit portable on the beach yesterday scanning those systems, btw. Most came in fine with just the back whip antenna. No RISCON (RI.system) though, but everything else.

Pro106, are any of your systems VHF? I have found in the last few updates that VHF has basically disappeared, and if I add VHF to any roaming config I receive nothing, not even 800 MHz. Interested in your results.

@turnpike61, just to clarify, @pro2004 is demonstrating the P25RX-II and the new software with scanning support for that receiver model. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe your receiver is the original P25RX model? While I am currently working on firmware/software for the P25RX, it is not available yet for that model. There has only been one update for the P25RX since the last stable version (02-10_1045). The most recent update added support for Rdio-Scanner audio output files. This should have no affect on the VHF reception.

OK, thanks. My VHF no longer works, but 800 MHz works just fine. Maybe it's time to buy a P25RX-II.

I'd be happy to get a P25RX-II assembled and on the way to you! It will have better sensitivity at the the lower VHF frequencies than the P25RX. If you think there is something wrong with your P25RX, I'm happy to take a look at it for you. Please email directly if you want to send it in.

I am going to buy a P25RX-II, but think I have to wait a bit. With this, an SDS200, and just coming back from Hamvention, as a retiree I have to wait a bit :) Thanks though. I will continue to play with it.

Assume each system is in a different zone? Where can I find instructions to create different zones, each with a different system?

Zones are associated with talk groups. There is a zone field in the talk group editor table. You can quickly change by using the mouse to select the talk group rows you want to change and press the <Set Zone> button. Enter a numerical value. Write the talk group table to the device to get them into the flash memory of the receiver. To set the Zone Alias for a zone, hold the ALT key while pressing the left mouse button on a zone button. Enter the text.

Thanks Todd, beginning to grasp the zone feature. Currently there is no means to listen to different systems? Did I read recently that "scanner" software was in development?
